IRVINE, Calif. – April 22, 2025 – Enevate, a pioneering battery innovation company enabling extreme fast charge and high energy density battery technologies for electric vehicles (EVs) and other markets, announces technology enabling unmatched performance in a large pouch cell format.
Enevate’s silicon cell technology achieves 820Wh/L and over 1500 cycles to 80% with 4C fast charging on every cycle. This represents a significant advancement for passenger EVs. Enevate’s technology enables EVs to achieve much higher range, alleviating range anxiety, and extends battery lifespan. This technology also allows EVs to charge very quickly, in about 15 minutes. This 15-minute charging capability facilitates rapid vehicle turnaround, a critical factor for increasing EV adoption, making long road trips feasible and enabling applications such as ride-sharing.
“Enevate’s technology delivers a unique combination of fast charging, high energy density, and high cycle life,” said Dr. Benjamin Park, Enevate Founder and Chief Technology Officer. “Traditional lithium-ion cells typically require tradeoffs between these key performance metrics. Our silicon-dominant cell technology overcomes these limitations, providing a solution that meets the demanding requirements of next-generation EVs.”
The cell technology has been built and tested in large format pouch cells, and 120Ah pouch cells for EVs have been designed for customers. Rapid charging is essential for wider EV adoption, particularly given that many vehicle owners lack access to home overnight charging. A 15-minute fast charge addresses this key consumer barrier, allowing EV owners to quickly recharge at fast-charging stations.
Enevate’s innovation is poised to accelerate EV adoption by enabling rapid charging at fast-charge stations, resolving range anxiety, and preserving EV value through long-lasting batteries, which are all critical factors for consumer acceptance.
